I love bags, I love shoes n I love the I heart series!

How To Get Over A Break Up?
All of us have different ways. For some a new bag, a haircut or a new dress would do the trick. Others need to curl up in bed with a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Bitching about your boyfriend to your friends also works. What if u realize that your friends knew that your boyfriend was cheating on you?
Guess what Angela Clark did? She just upped and left London and moved to New York. But only after catching her fiancee cheating on her at her best friend's wedding, creating a scene and breaking the groom's hand. Oh yeah she left the engagement ring floating a bag full of her pee. Angela got a New York makeover from her NBF Jenny and dating advice New York style. To top it all she gets a job where she gets to write about it all in her new blog .
I Heart New York  tells us that sometimes drastic decisions can do good too. The slightly clumsy and not so skinny Angela Clark can very well be related to. Also Jenny Angela's friend with a fix for almost any thing and wants to become Oprah is very interesting. My favorite character in the book though is the Marc Jacobs bag. For all you ladies out there who love your bags watch out for adjectives used for the bag.
I Heart Hollywood is another installment of Angela Clark.
Angela lands an interview hot actor James Jacobs. So she heads west with Jenny dreaming of Rodeo Drive and Malibu beach. This interview is her one shot at some serious journalism other than her blog.
Some times we just have a lot riding on one particular thing. When it doesn't work out the way we expected we don't know whether to run or to hide. This book really brings out the clumsy side of  Angela's nature. She does everything possible to mess up the interview and piss off her boss and her boyfriend and damage her bag. This book  ends well with everything falling back into place and Angela gets a new Marc Jacobs bag.
I Heart Paris is the latest book on my favorite klutz.
Angela is in Paris with the guy she loves, an assignment to write a piece for  a hip magazine and an expense account to pay for it all. But her boyfriend's crazy ex shows up. Also some one is trying to sabotage her career. Without Jenny to bail her out this time Angela is left in a mess all alone. All of us need our BFF when in trouble. But at times they are busy or away and need to figure things out ourselves. Angela seemed a  little too pathetic and gullible for my taste. But I kept reading due to my love for the first two books and was not disappointed.
Lindsey Kelk's humorous description of Angela and her antics are fun to read. Her description of all the cities especially Paris is picturesque. Not just the places there is also a decent dose of fashion. From 400 dollar Louboutins to MacBooks and ipods you will find it all. Those who love books like 'Sex and the City' and the shopaholic series should try this. So ladies if you are feeling low put down the candy bar and settle down on a couch for some chic-lit.

Single in the City - Sushmita Bose

Delhi or dilli as we all refer to it has always been intriguing. Right from the day I learnt in school that New Delhi is the capital of India I knew i wanted to visit  the place at least once. A popular movie I saw recently described the people of delhi as 'Everyone who's anyone knows someone influential'.  That coupled with the scary stories my friends, who have at some point of time or the other been there, told me kept me from going. Then there was this girl from Delhi in my office. She had this 'I don't give a dam' attitude that i liked about her n I thought maybe its because of the place she is from. So i had this strong urge to visit Delhi but this time I had no one for company and I was too chicken to go alone.
Well the bottom line is I have not been able to go as of yet but thats one of the reasons why I picked up this book.
Single in the City as the description says is a collection of the eponymous column that Sushmita Bose wrote for Hindustan Times. Well column or no column I wanted to a woman's view on the place thats allegedly not safe for women. The book is a light hearted take on the issues any person who has moved to a new place has to deal with. Having worked in the IT industry I have seen many of my out of town colleagues go through lot of the stuff described in the book. Oh yes there is definitely that Delhi flavor too and I think its just the right amount.
This book is definitely not for the people who read hardcore intellectual books nor does it have a thrilling plot that keeps u gripped. But one thing i can say that it is for the people who want to do some light read after a stressful and hectic week! So what if it sounds like Sex and the City, it actually shows that for an Indian woman life is not just about Labels and Love. Theres a lot more to it. And the illustrations are interesting too.
As for me I still do want to go to Delhi! So what if I'm not single any more!

Swimsuit by James Patterson

I am a fan of James Patterson's 'Women's Murder Club' series. After reading "7th Heaven" and then some chic lit novels I had a craving to read another JP thriller. I wanted to read something different so I opted for Swimsuit. And boy was I pleased.
The book cover says it's his most shocking yet seductive story and I agree completely!
The minute I started reading I knew it would be difficult to put it down. '
The book depicts a wide range of emotions of the scared parents of the supermodel who is missing, a killer who kills for entertainment and a reporter who gets tangled up in this mess in his search for the truth and a story for his paper of course.
A chill ran down my spine as the killer went on with his work enjoying himself at the expense of the horrifying things that he did.
I wont disclose any details but I was so engrossed that I even carried the book with me to the kitchen so that I could steal a few seconds every now and then while cooking.
Looking forward to reading more books like this.
